Earth Kids want to assist their chosen charity, Tom Ro Haven. They want to care for the horses, to raise money, to supply much-needed equipment. They support this unique animal rescue organization which is also in tune with Nature.
Compassion for those around us radiates love towards all living things.
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
― Albert Einstein
A Rainbow Vision
These are some of the dream objectives that Tom Ro Haven is striving for:
- Rescue abused, neglected and unwanted horses
- Rehabilitation and schooling of horses
- Offer non profit livery facilities, half, quarter, full and home leases to people
- Use horses to offer Equine Assisted Therapy to those in need as an alternative to medical therapy and an addition to conventional therapy
- To teach underprivileged children a skill involving the care of horses, learning to ride and to compete as well.
These are part of a huge mission at Tom Ro Haven, sanctuary for horses, healing refuge for children.
A Move, Some Films and Lots of Cuddles
Tom Ro Haven recently moved into Noordhoek, to hold their rescued horses on a farm at the corner of Silvermine Road and Noordhoek Main Road. They are slowly getting more human traffic and interest in these splendid animals. Earth Kids visited the haven every Monday (and during Lockdown they have been wearing their masks!) to assist with chores and make films that will highlight Tom Ro worldwide.
