Planting seeds is the first step towards taking action for nature. It is the best education in environment that we can give our kids. Planting seeds is the most satisfying outdoor garden activity we know.
Earth Kids love to plant and get their fingers into the soil. Planting seeds is a symbol of new life, new beginnings and hope. We believe in Companion Planting and Permaculture because we intend to garden WITH Nature. We like growing in terms of a Polyculture, not a Monoculture.
Earth Kids hope to see beautiful vegetables grow from seed, with gorgeous flowers that turn into delicious produce. This is what we planted today:
- Spinach
- Marog
- Kale
- Bok Choy
- Coriander
- Celery
- Sunflowers
- Corn
- Spekboom
Green green green is our vegetable garden! Gardening with Nature is our belief and our joy.
Fresh buds bloom, animals awaken and the earth seems to come to life again. Farmers and gardeners plant their seeds and temperatures slowly rise. Spring is the season of new beginnings.
What most people call spring all relates to how the planets are lying and how the earth itself is tilting! So Spring is a time between the shortest day and the longest day of the year, winter and summer. We talk about the angle of Earth’s tilt toward the sun, the equinoxes and solstices.
