A Happy Holiday

Kaelys Krazy World

This year has been especially tough for most of us. With COVID-19 and many many other struggles, it was extremely nice to take a break and look forward to Christmas.

We had some family over. It had been so long since I had seen my cousins that I was really looking forward to it.

But with the family and everything, it meant that shopping and cooking and cleaning all became a regular event/affair. Every day there were some new mince pies freshly baked, or some cookies, or an experimental cake for the trifle. And, of course, the shopping while the other members of the family were out of the house.

While my dad was out, my mom and I rushed to the shops to try and secretly get a present. Or when my sister was out, my dad and I were trying to get her a present. It was really fun trying to wrap them all as well.

I remember last year, it was the night before Christmas and about 10:30 at night. I was in my room trying to wrap my mom’s presents.  I was really trying not to make too much noise, but you know what wrapping paper can be like!

Anyway, the number of times we cleaned the house in a week just about doubled. Almost every second day we had to make sure that our rooms were not too messy, or that we didn’t leave a mess in the kitchen when we cooked.

But I guess that was always a rule. Even with all the chaos, Christmas is by far one of my favorite holidays. For some people, it’s about the family and friends, or the presents. For me, it is the same, a little, and it is also a very important day in my religion.

Since my family and I are Christian, Christmas means a lot to us. It is the day that our Saviour, Jesus Christ, was born. So Christmas is always a little extra special. Of course, even if you aren’t Christian, Christmas is a really special holiday.

The vibe and excitement is really amazing. And of course the music is great. Watching Christmas movies with friends and family are always the best.  So whether you celebrate it the way I do, or you do it just to see your friends and family, and have a good time, it is always an amazing time.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and see you next year.
